What is the minimum order quantity?
MOQ is 500 units per model for a standard device in MLAY packaging. For private-label orders that need custom tooling, artwork or a bespoke colourway, the minimum rises to 1,000–3,000 units depending on what is being changed.
Trial orders below MOQ can sometimes be arranged for a first shipment — talk to your territory agent.
Can we get samples before committing?
Yes. Samples ship within 3–5 working days from stock. Sample units are charged at unit price plus freight, and the cost is credited against your first bulk order.
Where a device needs your branding on the sample, allow 10–15 days for artwork and tooling.
What are your lead times?
Roughly 25–35 days from deposit for a standard order, and 40–55 days where custom tooling or packaging is involved. Peak season (Q3 into Q4) adds around a week.
Lead times are confirmed in writing on the proforma invoice, not estimated after the fact.
What payment terms do you offer?
Standard terms are 30% deposit with the balance against the bill of lading. We accept T/T and irrevocable L/C at sight. Established partners can negotiate open terms after a track record of orders.
How far can the device be customised?
Four levels, in ascending order of MOQ and lead time:
- Logo and packaging — your mark on the device and a fully bespoke retail box.
- Colourway — housings in your Pantone reference.
- Firmware — energy steps, interface language, flash sequence.
- Tooling — a new housing shape, which requires a mould investment.
Do you provide the retail packaging design?
We supply dielines and can produce the artwork in-house, or work to files your designers provide. Manuals are localised into the language of your market, and we handle the printing as part of the order.
Can we have exclusivity in our country?
Yes, for partners who commit to an annual volume. Exclusivity is granted per country and reviewed annually against agreed targets — several of our first-class agents hold it. Discuss terms with the export team before your first bulk order.
Who owns the tooling we pay for?
Where you fund a bespoke mould, that tooling is reserved exclusively for your brand for as long as the partnership continues. It is not used to produce units for anyone else.
Which certifications transfer to our brand?
Device-level approvals — CE, RoHS, FCC, PSE, KC and SASO among others — are held against the hardware and cover units you sell under your own label, provided the electronics and housing are unchanged.
What does not transfer automatically is anything naming the legal manufacturer or importer on the label. If you become the importer of record in your market, that registration is yours to hold, and we supply the technical file to support it.
Do you accept factory audits?
Yes. We host buyer audits and third-party inspections — SGS, BV, TÜV and Intertek have all been through the Shenzhen facility. Book through your territory agent with about two weeks’ notice.
Video walkthroughs are available if travel is not practical.
Is the factory ISO certified?
The facility operates an ISO 13485 quality management system for medical-device manufacture alongside ISO 9001. Current certificates are on the certifications page and copies are issued with every quotation.
Can you support registration in our market?
We provide the technical documentation, test reports and declarations of conformity needed for registration. The submission itself is made by the local legal entity — usually you or your appointed representative — because most regulators require a domestic applicant.
Which Incoterms do you work on?
FOB Shenzhen or Guangzhou as standard. We also quote CIF, DDP and EXW where a partner prefers it. Air, sea and rail to Europe are all routine.
How are the lithium batteries shipped?
Cordless units contain lithium cells and travel under UN38.3 with the MSDS and test summary in the document pack. Air freight requires a certified dangerous-goods forwarder, which adds a little to cost and transit — sea freight has no such restriction.
What paperwork ships with an order?
Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and the CE or market-specific declaration of conformity. Form A, Form E and ATR are issued where your market has a preferential trade agreement with China.
What is the difference between IPL and laser hair removal?
IPL uses a broad spectrum of light across a wide window, so it treats a larger area per flash and is better suited to home use. A diode laser emits a single wavelength and is more targeted, which is why clinics use it.
For at-home devices IPL is the safer and faster technology, and it is what every MLAY device uses.
How long does a lamp last?
Between 300,000 and 999,000 flashes depending on model — enough for well over a decade of full-body use on the typical schedule. Models in the interchangeable-head series take a replacement cartridge, so the handset itself never becomes disposable.
What does sapphire ice cooling actually do?
A sapphire lens backed by a cooling plate holds the contact surface at around 5 °C. That numbs the skin fractionally before each flash, which is what makes a higher energy level tolerable — the point is comfort at full power, not a lower setting.
Which skin tones are the devices suitable for?
IPL targets the pigment in the hair, so it works best on dark hair against lighter skin — Fitzpatrick I to V. It is not effective on white, grey or red hair, and is not recommended for Fitzpatrick VI. Every device carries a skin-tone sensor that will refuse to flash where the reading is unsafe.
What warranty do the devices carry?
12 months as standard from the date of retail sale, extendable to 24 for partners who ask. Cover is against manufacturing defect; it does not cover accidental damage or use outside the manual.
What is the typical defect rate?
Field returns run below 1%. Every unit is functionally tested and burned in before packing, and batch records are retained so any failure can be traced to its production run.
How are faulty units handled?
Confirmed defects inside warranty are replaced on your next shipment at no charge, rather than shipped back and forth. For larger partners we send a spares kit with the order so a customer can be looked after locally the same week.
