MLAY builds in its own factory in Bao’an District, Shenzhen. Not a contract line rented by the month — the SMT floor, the lamp line, the ageing room and the laboratory are all under one roof and all staffed by people on our payroll. That is the difference between being able to promise a lead time and being able to keep one.
SMT and assembly
Boards are placed and reflowed in-house, then tested before they ever reach a housing. Assembly is manual where a machine would be worse at it and automated where it would be better.
The ageing room
Finished units run continuously in a temperature-controlled room before they ship. Infant mortality in electronics happens early; the ageing room is where we find it, rather than the customer finding it.
The laboratory
Output energy, spectral distribution, flash count, surface temperature and skin-sensor threshold are all measured here, on samples pulled from every batch. The performance figures published on the product pages come from this room.
Quality system
The plant runs an ISO 13485 quality management system for medical devices, audited under MDSAP, with SA8000 social compliance certification.
